Her work takes inspiration from the pure world, specifically organic evolution, and makes use of this to develop algorithms that \u2018evolve\u2019\u00a0 each the design and management methods of a robotic, customised\u00a0 to a selected software. She was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 2022, and was awarded the ACM SIGEVO Award for Excellent Contribution to Evolutionary Computation in 2023.
