Inadvertent in-flight shutdown resulting in lack of management, Coombe Nation Park, Warwickshire, 25 March 2025.<\/p>\n

The plane struck the bottom in a wooded space while on strategy to land at a web site adjoining to Coventry Hospital. The accident occurred in the course of the sixth consecutive flight, which was in preparation for demonstrating the plane being operated in accordance with the operator\u2019s Past Visible Line Of Sight with Visible Mitigations (BVLOS VM) authorisation.<\/p>\n

The reason for the accident was recognized as a software program bug together with a lack of synchronisation between the Distant Pilot (RP) and the Security Distant Pilot (SRP), whereby the SRP\u2019s hand controller had remained set to the disarm place when the plane had taken off. When the plane got here inside vary of the SRP\u2019s controller, this resulted in energy being faraway from the plane\u2019s electrical propulsion motors, resulting in the plane stalling, its emergency parachute system being disabled, and a subsequent uncontrolled descent from a peak of 60 m.<\/p>\n
